Toasted Cheese Sandwich

This cheese sandwich is one of my Instagram posts which I haven’t posted here till now. It’s one of the ONLY two meals HACE can actually make by himself. The guy cannot cook jack, but when he’s in the kitchen, he’s either making this sandwich, or noodles. And I can’t lie, he makes noodles better than I do *covering face in shame*

Toasted Cheese Sandwich

This sandwich is fully customizable. You can leave out the eggs, add some shredded cabbage, etc. The 2 main components are the bread and the cheese.

While I used Gouda cheese in this recipe, you can use whatever cheese you like. I use Mozzarella a lot too. Use your favourite meltable cheese.

Now that I’ve got your mouth watering, here’s the toasted cheese sandwich recipe so you can make it for yourself.

Toasted Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients

2 slices of your favourite bread

2 tablespoons of freshly grated Gouda cheese

1 egg

Pinch of salt (check that your cheese isn’t salty. If it is, skip the salt)

Instructions

Spray a nonstick frying pan with oil spray. Set over high heat.

After 30 seconds, break the egg into the frying pan. Sprinkle the salt over the egg. Allow the egg to cook for about 2 minutes, then flip and cook the other side till as done as you like (no runny egg for me sha). Remove the egg and set aside.

Spray the frying pan again (you can butter one side of each of the bread slices alternatively).

After 30 seconds, add the bread slices.

Put the egg on one of the slices, and top with the grated cheese.

After 1 minute, top the slice with cheese with the second slice, toasted side up.

Flip the sandwich, and let brown for another 30 seconds.

Serve!

Hi, my name is Chidinma. I’ve been happily married for 4+ years (actually almost 6 years now), and my husband and I have been trying to have our own children for almost all the time we’ve been married, with no success…yet. We haven’t lost hope (far from it), and we believe it will happen very soon.
